Evolution 2003
"Lumen present an ambitious programme of international media arts which
takes another step towards exploring the historical and contemporary use of
new technologies whilst examining their interrelated cultural issues.
Evolution 2003 will take a look at how artists interfere with, influence and
punctuate mass communication systems and media technologies."

My particular favorites this year were Cory Arcangel, Bill Brown of the surveilance camera players and Kevin Mccoy. Sadly and unfortunately I didnt get a chance to see Ben Rubin's presentation on the second day. everyone who saw it thought it was really good! I look forward to next years evolution.
Interestingly on the first day I was there I was sitting next to Gustav Metzger (the founder of auto-destructive art ) without realising. subsequently his lecture which I had hyped myself up for, wasnt what I was expecting... but nonetheless what he started in the 1960's remains a thought provoking influence.
